On September 9th the Ramsey County Chapter of Pheasants Forever hosted it's 2017 learn-to-hunt event! It was perfect weather for the event which was held at Sand Pine Pheasants in Avon, MN. We started the day with a safety discussion addressing concerns when group field hunting and with specific issues about the safety of dogs. The participants benefitted from additional information presented by MN DNR Conservation Officer Chad Thesing. After the safety discussion, the participants shot some clay as a warm-up for the hunt, and then spent some time in the field with dog demonstrations. Then it was on to the hunt! Our chapter was lucky to have dogs and handlers provided by Four Points Retriever Club. After the hunt, everyone enjoyed lunch at the clubhouse as well as a bird cleaning demonstration. Please check out the pictures of the hunt in our photo album.
